The Seiko Presage Classic Series Craftsmanship HCC006J1 reinterprets the legacy of Japan’s very first wristwatch, the 1913 Laurel, through centuries-old Japanese lacquer artistry. At the center of this timepiece is a genuine jet-black Urushi lacquer dial, handcrafted by master artisans through a painstaking process of repeated coating, curing, and hand-polishing. This traditional craft produces an incomparable depth of black and a glossy, organic finish that continues to harden and gain character over time.
Adorned with opulent gold-toned Arabic numerals inspired by the vintage Laurel layout, the dial features leaf-style hands and a sunken 24-hour subdial at 6 o’clock under a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Encased in a polished 39.6mm stainless steel case, it secures comfortably with a calf leather strap and three-fold deployment clasp.
Driven by the in-house Seiko Calibre 6R5H automatic movement, the HCC006J1 provides a 72-hour (3-day) power reserve, hacking seconds, and an exhibition case back.
